First remove the valance if there is one on the blinds.
How to remove venetian blind valance. Most valances are mounted with a clip that will attach at the top of the headrail. Support the weight of the valance while removing the hardware to avoid accidents. The pulling motion will release the bracket from the front of the headrail and allow you to remove the blind from the bracket by continuing to push upward. If they re held up by brackets that clip over the front side of the blinds they re standard.
Unsnap the front of the valance from the clips attached to the headrail. Remove the valance to reveal the top rail. If your blind is an inside mount you will need to remove the blind from the window before you can take off the clip. The valance usually can be removed by simply lifting if off the blinds.
This releases the entire valance and exposes the top of the vanes. Remove the clip by placing your finger underneath the back of the clip inside the headrail and lift. Leave sturdy hardware attached to the walls for easier reinstallation. Remove all visible screws and or nails with a drill or hammer before attempting removal.
